Birmingham is a very green city and has a great number of trees. Many large trees can be found in the Southern side of the city and the tallest are generally the poplars.

This is a Poplar in Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham, taken in 2008. It's one of the tallest trees in the city, perhaps the tallest.  Probably about 40+ metres tall.

Hamburg Germany. Found by cruising over the river in Hamburg in Google Earth and seeing the 3D trees. These were particularly tall and are about 34 metres in height according to the Google Earth layers tool. Original photo by Frank Jeßen.
